Metropolitan has been voted as one of Sri Lanka's top 20 English web sites by the public, from among hundreds of .lk websites. Metropolitan recieved the award for this achievement at the first ever 'Most Favorite Web Site Competition' Awards Ceremony, which was held on 20th November 2009 organized by LK Domain Registry of Sri Lanka.
