A management decision to diversify the Group's business domain was the recent entry into Electro-mechanical engineering and Building Services engineering sectors. Entry into HVAC  area was met by the acquisition of a Company, which had operated in this sector for over  twenty-five years

The Company has well over 3000 installations of air conditioners, both domestic and commercial. Besides, the Company  secured the exclusive  distributorship for the world renowned York brand domestic and light commercial air conditioners since Metropolitan's acquisition of the Company. The Company has also been recognized by  ICTAD as an EMI  contractor in air conditioning. The Company has positioned itself to focus on four distinct areas of operation.

Domestic and Light Commercial Air Conditioning

Initial entry in to this sector was in 2002. The Company repositioned its offer with YORK domestic and light air conditioning in the latter part of 2005, with an aggressive marketing campaign, emphasizing the brand equity of YORK, offering the full range of domestic and light commercial air conditioners. The Company succeeded in making a significant impact on the market in view of the added advantage of having its own technical team, and one of the best equipped facilities in Sri Lanka for design, implementation, maintenance and after sales support.

Central / Industrial Air-conditioning

As a preferred business partner of globally renowned manufacturer, York and in addition to the advantage of having acquired the customer accounts of the 10,000 tons of air conditioning installed by the Company within the last 5 years, the Company is perceived as a main player in this segment. The Company has a professional team of engineers, design staff in addition to facilities for fabrication and maintenance. The recent award of contracts to key projects in the Airport and several hotels are testimony of the success of the Company.

Refrigeration

The Company has successfully undertaken and completed many projects, with panelling provided by Genaplast Singapore. Currently, gearing up to become a dominant player in the commercial refrigeration sector.

Water and Sewage Treatment

Having acquired large¬ size customer accounts in this sector, expertise has been enhanced to exploit greater opportunities. Based on the potential, additional resources would be employed, so that the division would consolidate and grow.
